We built Sandbox because good businesses often get stuck for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of their work.

Many home-improvement companies are started by talented entrepreneurs who know their craft, know their customers and know how to get things done.

They build a strong reputation. They grow. And somewhere along the way, the company begins to depend on them for almost everything: sales decisions, hiring, marketing, operations, financial decisions and problem solving.

Eventually the owner becomes one of the biggest constraints on the business they created.

Sandbox Resources is a growth-focused acquisition and operating company that partners with established home-improvement businesses.

We bring together capital, leadership, systems and shared resources to help good companies become stronger, more scalable businesses.

We are not passive investors. We work alongside the companies we partner with.

We believe some of the best businesses in America are local companies that have spent decades building trust in their communities.

They often have loyal customers, skilled employees and strong reputations. What they do not always have is the operating infrastructure required for the next level of growth.

Sandbox exists to help build it.

Our job is not to erase the identity of these businesses. Our job is to preserve what works and strengthen what does not.

Summer Felix-Mulder

Managing Partner

Summer leads growth strategy, operating systems and marketing across Sandbox Resources and its portfolio companies.

She is the creator of the Sandbox Operating System and works closely with leadership teams to create accountability, improve execution and build companies that are less dependent on their founders.

Before Sandbox, Summer spent more than 15 years building and leading The Draw Shop, working with thousands of companies and entrepreneurs around the world.
